About PEB Fort

Peb Fort (विकटगड) is a fort located 19km from Karjat, in Raigad district, of Maharashtra. This fort is in continuation with the Malang gad, Tauli Hill and Chanderi fort of the Matheran Hill Range. Vikatgad is a favourite destination for one-day trekkers. The trek path to Vikatgad is along deep ravines and cliffs. Its closeness to Matheran and Neral attracts many trekkers on weekends. The forest department and local villagers are doing plantation and some restoration works on the fort.

How to reach PEB fort (विकटगड)

From Mumbai catch a train to from where you get a shared cab to this point…

Night trek started at base village, we were a small group of 8 people who went with a trekking group..

It’s a moderate trek which is quite risky at some patches. Avoid going on night treks if you are beginner or alone, as it has mountain on one side and ditch trench on the other side. The path at some point is too narrow to walk and balance but if you are careful you will see some of the most scenic views also. Be aware of monkeys, try to hide every edible stuff inside your bags, not in pockets. Monkeys are so smart and can harm you while snatching things from you.

Expense per person is : 700 or more according to your package…

Below is the campfire’s few moments captured by our team member.
